Perfect Picnic

Parks, picnics and play; summer words forgotten as we creep into September. The days shorter, the breeze stronger, the sun less strong. There’s that dull, familiar feeling: Summer’s gone.

And away go the cooling bags, the plastic plates and the picnic baskets – locked up, good for nothing, until June next year.  One possibility.

Alternatively; what would you say to a September picnic? Enjoying those last few flushes of warmth; that very distinctive time of year when Summer meets Autumn and the two collide creating unusual bursts of colour, teasing the senses.

In my opinion, September gets overlooked. Granted, it is a busy month. School’s back and there’s the familiar drone of the world’s motor cranking up again but if you get the chance do visit the roses in Regent’s Park or the Italian fountains in Kensington Gardens. Go armed with picnic basket, throw and jersey in hand. It’s the perfect opportunity to reflect on what a great summer it’s been.To help you on your way this September, we’ve featured some of London’s best parks in our Park Life feature and right here we’ve picked out some gorgeous items to make your end of season picnic, a classy affair. Enjoy!
